TCS Update
As many staff are aware, there will be a rally today at 1:00 across from the MC Building sponsored by MoveOn and Avaaz. Avaaz intends to deliver a petition with 50,000 signatures calling on the Board to remove Mr. Wolfowitz as World Bank Group President.

While recognizing that all of us want a quick resolution to the current situation, the Staff Association maintains that this is best served by allowing the Board the space to follow due process and to complete its work. The Board and the President are fully aware of staff concerns, and we expect that their decision on TCS, and the way forward, will take this into account. Now that the Ad Hoc Committee has finished its report, we expect that the Board will fulfill its fiduciary role in ensuring that Bank Group governance is sound and that the institution remains effective in carrying out its mission. preventing governance problems. Our credibility lies in how this issue is resolved and what mechanisms are put in place to make the necessary improvements to our internal governance.
Volcker Panel Update
The Staff Association Executive Committee will be meeting with the Volcker Panel at the end of the month. As noted in their May 3rd Kiosk announcement, the Panel has set up an outside e-mail contact. Staff have questioned the May 10th deadline. We were informed that this deadline is just for requests to meet with the panel. Staff may submit their requests through e-mail to the Panel or through the SA and the Ombuds Office. By next week, the Staff Association hopes to have clarification on the process being followed by the Panel, confidentiality of information and expected output, which we will share with staff.
